Do Not Interact List
- I don't currently have any strong DNIs to include here, but I don't want to just delete the section so...My Stance on Pro VS Anti Shipping
- I don't particularly care strongly about the "proship" vs "antiship" debate.
- I won't throw hate towards anyone for what they ship.
- I do believe fiction affects people, but certainly not in a directly monkey-see-monkey do way like many seem to fear.
- Some people make fanworks with problematic ships for theraputic reasons, or to help process their own trauma. Some people include problematic ships in their work so as to have a vessel to talk about the problems inherent in those ships. There are many valid uses for these ships, and just banning them altogether would have bad consequences.
- I think if making content using these problematic ships, people do need to be especially careful to avoid the normalisation of the things that make those dynamics problematic. I will not engage with those trying to actually normalise incest, pedophilia, or abuse. But I don't believe all proshippers wish to normalise those things.
- Many problematic ships do make me uncomfortable to see content of so if you share a lot of that type of content I am unlikely to follow you back.Other Shipping Stances I Have Thought To Add
- Persona 5: Shutaba is a valid ship. Whilst a lot of people do view them as more sibling-like (and in fact, that IS my personal view, I don't actually ship Shutaba romantically), they're not actually siblings. Joker has not been adopted by Sojiro, he's just being looked after by him for a singular year. Like, adoptive siblings are siblings, I get that, but.. they're not canonically adoptive siblings. I am very close to multiple people who absolutely love the Shutaba ship, and so if you're staunchly anti-Shutaba, I don't think we're likely to get along. Sorry.
- Persona 5: As much as I don't exactly like the concept of them, I can cope with most the adult romances for Joker. Except Kawakami. That ship makes me VISCERALLY uncomfortable, and when doing it for achievements sakes I had to fastforward through the rank 10 because I just couldn't handle it. So I will likely block people who regularly post content of that ship, for my own mental health.System Stances
- I am a singlet, so I tend to avoid engaging in system discourse. It's not my place.
- From the systems I have befriended over the years, though, I have been taught that it is only traumagenic. My belief about endos is that you may actually be real systems, but that you have buried your trauma down so far you genuinely believe you don't have it. Of course, I understand endos likely won't like that stance. I recommend that endos DNI, as I doubt we'll get along easily.
